Das Museum ist das historische Gedächtnis der Region. Diverse Publikationen und viele Quellen v.a. aus dem 20. Jahrhundert, Privatsammlungen und über 4’000 inventarisierte Objekte befinden sich im Museum und den fünf Depots.
