Das Pyrenäen-Löffelkraut ist in den europäischen Gebirgen mit Einschluss der Pyrenäen verbreitet und steht unter Naturschutz.
Das Pyrenäen-Löffelkraut ist eine seltene Art mit isoliertem Vorkommen. In der Schweiz sind nur wenige Standorte bekannt und alle liegen im Kanton Bern. Im Naturpark Gantrisch ist das Pyrenäen-Löffelkraut am Gantrischseeli zu finden. Es braucht nasse, kalthaltige und baumfreie Standorte. Diese 50 cm hohe Pflanze wächst im Herbst, überwintert grün und blüht dann im nächsten Jahr. Das Pyrenäen-Löffelkraut existiert schon seit der Eiszeit.
So fördern wir das Pyrenäen-Löffelkraut: Der Naturpark Gantrisch überwacht den Bestand des Pyrenäen-Löffelkrauts regelmässig. Bei Bedarf werden Massnahmen wie Auszäunen des Standorts vorgenommen, um die Art vor Trittschäden zu schützen.
